A list of allegedly state-mandated styles was snapped by a journalist inside the heavily controlled state.
But despite many styles sporting shaved side styles, the list does not contain the style made famous by nuclear weapon wielding warmonger Kim Jon-un.
The Finnish reporter, who is believed to have snapped the approved list while visiting the Pyongyang for the ‘Day of the Sun’ celebrations, claimed the barber gave him the “best shave and head massage I have ever had”.
He added: “North Korean men can choose between 15 approved haircut styles.
“I had the most popular one – and it’s not like Kim Jong Un.”
It follows reports from the hermit kingdom two years ago claiming the tyrannical dictator was forcing his subjects to imitate his shaved side style.
He added: “Equality in North Korea: Both sexes have 15 approved haircut models.
“You can forget about dyeing your hair though.”
But some on social media have claimed the styles may just be a list of sample cuts – and not state mandated styles.
It comes as the hermit kingdom threatens to test nuclear missiles weekly as its vice foreign minister warned the US could face ”all out war”.
Han Song-Ryol revealed the state would continue to test its missiles despite international condemnation and increasing military tensions with the United States.
Speaking in Pyongyang, he said: “We’ll be conducting more missile tests on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis.”
He added the US could face “all out war” if Donald Trump and his government were “reckless enough to use military means”.
The comments follow North Korea’s failed missile test over the Easter bank holiday weekend as citizens celebrated Kim Il-sung’s birthday on the Day of the Sun.
